History: When Mrs Collier was first exhibited around 1905 it was considered the closest to ‘yellow’. It was rediscovered in a South American garden by Prof Harland c.1955 and released by Dobbie and Son of Edinburgh. Named for the wife of one of the employees at their Mark’s Tey seed farm. Mrs Collier is a foundation cultivar used in the cross between Lathyrus odoratus and L. belinensis, which has led to the various Lathyrus x hammetti hybrids.
